Thomas the Train became a part of the girl cousins in Jackson's life.....and they could not get enough of it. We just crammed too much fun into the weekend.
Hannah--watch out....because Emmerson Rose is practicing her performance skills and is getting an early start. See Stage Presence...and such a smile. Also, Alan could not get away from the Electric Piano. We acted out the "Old Gray Cat" and played all the music instruments.
Alan, Deonne the their sweet little ones(Emmerson and Evynn) visited this week-end and we all had a great "field trip" to the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch in Celina(sp?) We fed the cows, goats, and sheep...then we explored all the pumpkin "photo op" places(see Blog pics), did the bounce house, ate hot dogs amidst all the bumblebees, had a hay ride and just had a great time. I think the pictures tell it all! Leslie, Rob and Jackson of course came along for all the barrels of fun we had. Oh...and I squashed my big butt into a barrel to ride with sweet little Evynn.
Life is good when you are 2-1/2 and while you are still an "ONLY" child!!! haha...Jackson's open house at his Mother's Day Out was tonight and I got to see his "room" and all his beautiful works of art! Actually, I really did get into the Apple with GLITTER on it!!! He loves the trucks and trains and lego table most of all. He tried running around chasing a few little girls who really didn't know him...but he loved it anyway! I loved watching him most of all. It is nice to just sit back and watch another school setting and not have to make sure so and so keeps his hands in his own "space" and on and on.
I had a pretty crazy day with the Kindergarteners who came to music today so, little ones were kind of "off" my list of fun for the evening!!! haha. After seeing Jackson though, I just kind of forgot about all the craziness and reveled in the joy of being little again!!! What fun....
I suppose the best thing about this week-end was hearing that Jackson told his mommy that he "wanted to go to Grammie's house!!!" How sweet they are as they learn about life and simple joys, like go to get ice cream. Here Jackson is waiting for his Braums' chocolate milkshake!!! Yummy!!!
This was an event-filled week-end because Jackson came to stay with Grammie and Pop(and Rocky and Missy) AND Jenny, my teammate at school(the art teacher) had her baby on Friday! Baby Jason arrived safe and sound at 6 lbs.15 oz. and is long with beautiful dark hair like his mom! Jill, Laura and I could not wait 24 hours to go check him out and he passed ALL inspections with flying colors! I have pictures of this fun-filled weekend.
And sweet little Jackson ran in the yard with Missy, watched Cars, the movie, and some Thomas, the Train movies. We worked on pottying in the potty........but he sounds like his mom when I asked if he needed to go potty--"NO!" So much for that! He DOES like to wear the "duds" that go along with being able to potty in the potty! Check out the car underwear!
It was a great visit to the zoo! I think the grown-ups were actually a little more excited to see the big 'ole elephants, the graceful Giraffes, the pretty huge-mongous rhinos, the flamingos, and the cute and cordial Penguins at the Ft. Worth Zoo today. Jackson seemed to really get into riding the train....oh, and the PENGUINS!!!
Well, a slight depression cloaks 200 Waterfront Drive.....with the anticipation of having to go to bed by 10:18PM(usually after the weather report), setting the alarm for 5:30-ish(earlier on Choir days), and being all "yippy skippy" to say "Good Morning Shawnee Trail!!!" at our morning assemblies! It is a test of MENTAL STRENTGTH and FOCUS! So, what am I doing today besides praying for strength to get through another year???? Well, the picture tells it all...It's a dog day in the Music Room when Rocky and Missy have to get me all excited to learn about the Lines and Spaces(for the 9-millionth) time!!! BUT, whoever is reading this(usually Steph), you know I love my sweet "gig" at Shawnee Trail...Love to all who can read this during the day and don't have to be at school! ha!
These pictures are from Steph's birthday celebration(or from ONE of her many celebrations!). Frisco has refurbished some original homes, church, and buildings to a location called Heritage Square. It is fun to see these buildings saved so people can enjoy them. Plans are also underway to relocate many old fire engines from different places up here too. It will be a fun place to go when it is completed.
My best Blog-Fan is Stephanie. She always checks my blog for updates and lets me know if any of my own kids have a new "post!"--just in case I have failed to check for updates! Yes, she looks like she could be one of my children and often times when we are shopping together, the sales ladies refer to me as her mom! It must be the dark hair!!!!hahahaha Anyway, it is time for her to be on the blog! These are from her "birthday" celebration this week. We went to "Babe's Fried Chicken" and it is family style. Yes, home-style, down-home fried chicken and corn, green beans and mashed potatoes! Then homemade chocolate meringe pie and coconut cream pie!! WOW!
Emmerson has learned the "smile" thing and just look at that precious little one! I post these so I can go back and read my own blog and smile! This was Emmerson dressed for church! Emmerson, Grammie loves you!
I am a crazy Blogger-checker and mostly like to read my kids' Blogs! They are much more interesting than mine! ha I basically teach Elementary music....love it....and love buying sweet little things for my sweet grandkids...God is good and has blessed me with more than I could ever say!
